Little Girl Donates Birthday Gifts to Urban Ministries

Last year when then 5 year old Anna Leah Jimenez began making plans for her birthday, she told her mom she wanted to do something different. While most kids her age would have a birthday wish list filled with the latest hot toys, little Anna Leah had just one wish on her list: to make children with less than her happy. Anna Leah told her mom, Jean Jimenez, that rather than getting gifts for herself, she wanted to collect monetary gifts that she could donate to benefit the children housed at Urban Ministries Safehouse.

Her efforts paid off. Recently Anna Leah, her little brother, and mom Jean paid a visit to the Urban Ministries office to turn in her collection, totaling $110! The funds will be used to purchase toys and items for the children’s area in Safehouse.

We at Urban Ministries applaud Anna Leah for her generosity and her mom for teaching her daughter about giving back to others, and recognizing the plight of children who have witnessed domestic violence. Thank you for your support Anna Leah and for being such an awesome young lady!
