Sometimes life can take unexpected turns, which is why the Grace Assistance Program (GAP) is here to help!

Documents needed for Utility Assistance & Food:

Photo ID (anyone over 18 in the household), social security cards (all household members), copy of lease or mortgage statement, proof of income or no income statement, and expenses.

  • FOOD – Our food pantry is open each day from 8 am – 12 noon to meet the daily needs of those individuals/families suffering from food insecurity. Families may get a food box every 30 days. You must be a resident of Montgomery County or live on Fort Campbell Army Post.
  • CLOTHING – We stock seasonally appropriate attire in our “Clothes Closet”. Individuals may select from up to six items each day.
  • UTILITIES ASSISTANCE – We can help pay the remaining $100 of a Utility Bill once within a 12 month period. We cannot assist if you have been disconnected. We are currently out of funds for CDE Lightband and Clarksville Gas and Water. We can still assist clients of County Utilities.
  • PRESCRIPTION ASSISTANCE – Upon prescription validation (controlled substances excluded including pain medicine). Prescriptions must be filled at Andy’s Pharmacy located at 801 N 2nd Street, 931-802-5386, before you come to the office. You will need to call the office to get a list of documents needed prior to coming in to receive assistance.

If you are in need of assistance, we strive to provide resources quickly and efficiently. The below information is necessary to bring with you when you visit our offices. We need all documentation each time aid is requested. Please bring all of the following that applies to you:

Proof of Identity:

  • Proof of Social Security Numbers for everyone in the household
  • Valid Photo ID for the person receiving assistance (CANNOT BE EXPIRED, MUST BE VALID)

Proof of Household GROSS Monthly Income ( for all members of the household over the age of 18):

* GROSS monthly income is the amount of income before any withholdings for taxes, insurance, retirement contributions, etc.

  • If paid weekly, provide last (8) pay stubs
  • If paid bi-weekly, provide last (4) pay stubs
  • For SSI/SSD provide current Social Security Award
  • Most recent LES
  • Veteran’s Disability Award Letter
  • Signed letter from anyone outside of the household who provides financial support
  • Proof of child support and/or alimony received

Proof of all expenses (must be in the person requesting assistance or the spouse of the person requesting assistance’s name):

  • Cell phone
  • Child support
  • Medical
  • Insurance
  • Rent or mortgage
  • Utility bills
  • Original AND Cut-off Notice if applying for utility assistance
  • Any other fixed monthly bill

Income Limits for Utility Bill Assistance

To receive assistance with a utility bill, monthly gross income cannot exceed the following amounts:
